Again, developed from, and closely allied to the Earth Mother series of works, these sculptures all include both tree roots and various sorts of rock or stone. By incorporating these natural elements into the figures, the intended bond between the sculptures and the environment is reinforced, not only is the figure 'of the earth' metaphorically, she is also closely associated to the natural world in a more literal sense.
